Reno Tahoe with Leo

Lake Tahoe is about 200 miles (4 hours drive) from home.  Half of the lake is in California and the other half is in Nevada.

Lake Tahoe is a freshwater lake located along the Nevada and California border. It has a surface elevation of 1897 meters and a depth of 501 meters. It is the largest alpine lake within North America and the second deepest in the entire United States, just 92 meters less than Crater Lake which is the largest. It is also the 6th largest in terms of volume.

Lake Tahoe is surrounded by many beautiful parks. You can experience the breathtaking nature and parks scattered all around. Some of the parks include Emerald Bay State Park and D.L. Bliss State Park. Nature that is guaranteed to wow your eyes include the Mt. Tallac Trail, the Gondola at Heavenly and the Eagle Falls Trail.

You can choose from quite a large array of outdoor activities to suit any of your preferences. These range from skiing and snowboarding for the winter season to golfing, rafting and boat tours for the more sunny days. Kids can have an amazing and unforgettable time at the Tahoe Treetop Adventure Park, a place where adrenaline will hit peak levels as they walk the high ropes.

Reno is a little Casino City, similar to Atlantic City in New Jersey.  There are a lot of fun things to do in Reno, not just gambling.  Circus Circus is a little disneyland for children.

Reno, found near Lake Tahoe in the state of Nevada, is usually referred to as ‘The Biggest Little City in the World.’ It is majorly famous for casinos and being the place where Caesars Entertainment Corporation was born. With a population of over 233200, it ranks third in the list of the most popular cities in the state.

There are lots of casinos spread all over the city. Most of them are quite classy and attract tourists from all over the world. Examples include the Peppermill Casino, Atlantis Casino and the Casino at Silver Legacy Resort.

You can also find a wide range of museums within the city. Most of them exhibit art, science and history. A few worth mentioning include; National Automobile Museum which is a specialty museum, Terry Lee Wells Discovery Museum and the Nevada Museum of Art.

A number of unique sights and landmarks can be identified with Reno. These include Reno Aces Ballpark where you can enjoy the services of a restaurant just above the park while watching a game. Reno Air Racing, a fantastic annual event is also among the many things associated with Reno, as well as the University of Nevada. Other sights and landmarks include architectural buildings, government buildings, churches and some mysterious sites.

Reno is generally a place that I would recommend to anyone, with guarantee of lots of fun. It is also suitable for family vacations, but obviously with an exception for the casinos if there are kids involved.

Leo is a strange cat who is never bored of car rides.  He's so weird.  He has been to 5 states!

Does Leo ever get tired of car rides? I think not! I would be exhausted after four hours in a car. Though he knows how to relax and ride in style. :D
