  1. The Romans really knew how to build! There's no doubt in my mind they were the most talented architects in history or right up there with the greatest. This Colosseum is so well known. More recently, I have seen Blood and Sand, a show about the lives of gladiators who fought in this structure. I'm not sure how much of it is based on truth or just Hollywood fiction, but it is nice to watch history come alive and dream of a long gone day. I can only imagine how exciting it would have been to actually attend one of these gladiatorial events.

    More like TV for ancient times! :) I think this would have been the place to be if you were living back in those days. No movies or other functions to attend. But lots of entertainment to be had here. Though gory!
