Overview of the Wine Country

Napa and Sonoma valleys are by no doubt the crown jewels of California wine country. These regions are regarded to as home to the best winery and champagne houses. The region in itself is a tourist attraction for there are a number of activities that can be experienced down here. There are a number of hotels that can host many visitors coming to this region. The region enjoys a ‘Mediterranean’ Climate, which is a good one for the production of grapes. Most visitors come in from the months of June through October. A majority come during the months of Sep/Oct to witness grape harvesting.


Top Attractions

Wine Tasting
This is one of the most popular activities that tourists enjoy while in these wine rich valleys.

Hiking
There are many touring companies that have set Napa and Sonoma as their base of operations. Therefore, you will be guided through an intensive hiking through the country side.

Bella Villa Messina
This is an Italian villa that provides excellent views of the countryside. The vineyards can be viewed from this point.

Golfing
Golfing is also one of the activities that take place here at Sonoma country side.

Biking
Biking is also another popular activity here at the valleys.

There are also other activities such as ballooning, recreation and shopping that makes life of a visitor quite enjoyable.


How to get to the Wine Country

There are no public transit routes that go directly to the wineries. To get here from San Francisco, you would take a Golden Gate Transit to San Rafael and then connect to Sonoma county transit.

  1. This would be a lovely destination for a honeymoon adventure. I can't think of a more lovely way to celebrate love than with wine and champagne in one of the most beautiful, natural places on earth.

    1. A lot of couples go there for the honeymoon. This is the perfect location for wine tasting and outdoor activities.
