Playa Jaco

Jaco is the fun beach town with nightclubs and beach parties everywhere.  It is one of the best place for surf lessons and sport fishing in Costa Rica.  The town is very tourisy.

I saw many street dogs waiting for left over food near restaurants.  Really breaks my heart..

I spent the afternoon at the beach after visiting the Poas Volcano National Park.
Total tolls from my hotel -> Poas -> Jaco -> my hotel in San Jose = 75 + 75 + 390 + 660 + 500 + 500 + 660 + 500 = 3360 Colones (about $7USD).
Note: If you eat at Sodas (local family owned restaurants) and/or plan to drive in Costa Rica, have Colones handy.  They will accept US dollars but you won't get a fair exchange rates.

  10. Looks like a really beautiful place to visit. Plus the beach looks really friendly and quite fun. I've never heard of this place before though, but I will gladly look into it more. You really captured some true beauty with these photos. The downside is the dogs, I hate seeing dogs alone and with no homes.

    1. The beach is great but very crowded. I am a huge animal lover. I hate seeing street dogs and cats.

    I've always dreamed of visiting an exotic location such as Costa Rica. Is it very expensive to stay in a nice hotel or cottage there? I would be visiting with my family, rather than as a single traveler. So we would have the added expense of more people. As for the actual location of Jaco Beach, it seems very nice. Though maybe a little crowded. I'm not a fan of crowded places and prefer solitary locations. Still, one of the better looking, well maintained (as in clean) beaches that I have seen so far.

    1. The hotels in Costa RIca are way cheaper than those in the big cities in the US. Jaco is not for you if you don't like the noisy and crowded beach. I would go to Caribbean side of Costa Rica. I heard it's more beautiful there.

  12. Stunning beach views! Loved this place! I am just back to my home city after attending the dance events in New York. After a long time I enjoyed this much. I also visited the beautiful NYC beach. It was an awesome journey!
