San Diego Safari Park

What a wonderful Christmas weekend traveling with family and friends!  I needed it after several solo trips.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park a.k.a San Diego Wild Animal Park is located in Escondido, California and is the largest attraction in San Diego County.

The park is visited by 2 millions people annually and is home to 2600 animals representing more than 300 species.

Gorillas.  Mommy and me time.

Southwest African Meerkat

Sumatra Tiger

Red River Hogs

  3. Hi ,
I am planning to visit Costa Rica.Do you have any suggestions for places to explore for a home base, like renting a home and near a good town? What’s the best way to get around? I will stay about 1 week there, which two places on your list are closest together? I feel like I’d like to choose a couple of places and get to know them well.I will keep following your blog.

    1. I believe this comment section is for San Diego Safari but no problem. (: I rented a car to get around which is the most expensive way of transportation with full car insurance, gas and tolls. I don't recommend it (unless you love driving as much as I do). Part of the reasons was because I only had 3 days to visit this beautiful country and I saved time with my rental car.
The cheapest way is to take the local buses. It costs around 300 Colons (less than $1) per ride in the city of San Jose. You pay no more than $10 to travel pretty much anywhere in the country. Tourist buses are also cheaper than rental car. I am not going to rent a car next time.
(: Choose the ones I went to. Those are some of the most famous attractions in Costa Rica.

  5. Is that an ocelot? Oh! She's so gorgeous! I love domesticated and wild cats of all kinds. They're just so majestic.

My daughter and I love to watch nature documentaries about the African animals. She's such a big fan of Meerkat Manor and will be ecstatic to see these pictures. I'll bet they are just so tiny in real life.

Thanks for the lovely photos. Hopefully, one day we will have the chance to visit the San Diego Safari Park too.
