Washington Monument



Washington monument is an Egyptian styled obelisk designed by Robert Mills and completed by Thomas Casey and the US Army. It embodies the magnitude and prestige of the United States capital and it is it's recognizable and inspiring sign world wide. In the time it's construction was completed it was the World's tallest building built entirely of the white marble and dedicated to George Washington's greatness.

Get your tickets upon visiting; free day tickets are available at the free window or purchase the same for a fee. Visitors are subject to security screening, so no weapons, strollers or bulky items on the tour. During the unsuitable weather conditions Washington Monument is closed.

The monument has been currently closed for repairs (due to an earthquake) since 2011.
