Lincoln Memorial

The great Lincoln Memorial is a national monument in America. It was built to honor America’s 16th president, Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln memorial is located on the National Mall in Washington DC and is one of the popular and recognizable sites in America. The memorial is built with 36 iconic columns. Inside the memorial is a statue of one of America’s all time hero, Abraham Lincoln. His statue is flanked with the writings of what is considered to be his famous speech. The place is considered sacred by most Americans. Martin Luther King, Jr delivered his famous “I have a Dream Speech” in this Memorial. The memorial is administered by the National Park Service.
The most fun part is taking these stairs after peregrinating across Washington DC.

This is my favorite attraction in Washington DC.  It's nice and cool inside the building.  Abraham Lincoln is my favorite president.

This is the popular tourist attraction here at this memorial. There is a wonderful statue of the 16th president of America, Abraham Lincoln, lying between the north and south chambers in the central hall. The statue was curved under the supervision of Daniel Chester French. The actual work of carving was done by the Piccirilli brothers. The statue is 10 feet tall.

Fabulous View of Washington Monument from Lincoln Memorial
