Avenue of the Giants

Avenue of the Giants is on World's Famous Scenic Drive on US-101 in Northern California, running through Humboldt Redwoods State Park.

Avenue of The Giants is an ancient redwoods located in California, United States, and it is a place where you can find some of the tallest trees on earth. This avenue is a very famous scenic drive which spreads across 31 miles of Highway 101. Avenue of The Giants occupies 51,222 acres of the redwood groves; and it is a place where you can find a great number of unimaginable giant trees.

Top Attractions At Avenue of The Giants
1. Immortal Tree
This tree is not the oldest tree in Avenue of The Giants but, this gigantic tree is over 951 years old, measuring about 76m in height. This tree has survived it all; fire, floods, and even direct lighting strike. It was thunder strike that reduced the original height of the Immortal Tree by 14m.
Make out time to visit Avenue of The Giants, California and take a scenic drive in this woods. You will be amazed at the sight that will greet your eyes there.

2. Founder's Grove
This grove is very easy to locate and also the most visited grove in Humbolt Redwoods. Its popularity is as a result if its location which is very close to the offramp of Highway 101.
The Founder's Grove is dominated by giant redwoods, yet it has a very large area of open lands. In fact, my words cannot fully describe the exceptional nature of this place, so go and check out.

3. Drive-Through Tree (Chandelier Tree)
This is my personal favorite.  This tree is located in Drive-Thru Tree Park, in a town called Leggett. This tree has a magnificent view, partly because it has an opening at its foot where cars can drive through.  When you drive through the tree, keep your sun-roof open (if you car has one) and look up!

4. Tree House
Well this is not your usual tree house, rather this is an actual house that is built within a giant wood. The house is visible from the scenic drive, and the view is out of this world. So if you ever find yourself in California, make sure you visit this tree house. Trust me you will be happy you did.

This place is best enjoyed when you go by road trip, this way you won't miss any of the action.
If you are in California, just head to north California and then to Humbolt Redwoods State Park.  Drive up more North close to Oregon border, there is Redwood National Park, where you find the tallest, tallest trees on earth.  Look up the trees and you'll see how little you are.
Generally, Avenue of The Giants is about 5 hours drive from northern San Francisco and 2 hours by road trip from south of Oregon border.
